Celebrity Wife Swap Two-Night Series Premiere on ABC
January 2 at 10 PM and January 3 at 9 PM
We may not want to admit it, but we've probably
all caught an episode or two (or twelve) of that addicting
and absurd show Wife Swap. And now, it has its own celebrity
spin-off. Two mothers in celebrity families with incredibly
diverse values switch homes and families. For the first
week of the swap, its house rules but in the second week
the new mom gets a chance to put her rules in action.
If our experience with the original show tells us anything,
we can expect some pretty good drama and inherent comedy
from it all. Now, why wouldn't you want to watch that?
And check out will be swapping, celebs like Tracey Gold
& Carnie Wilson, Gary Busey & Ted Haggard, Flavor
Flav & Dee Snider, Niecy Nash & Tina Yothers and
Mick Foley & Antonio Sabato Jr.! Seriously, this is
not one to miss.
Jane by Design Tuesdays at 9 PM on ABC Family
Series Premiere January 3
Ready to launch another hit, ABC Family
brings us the story of Jane, a teen who lands herself
a job at a hip fashion house, Donovan Decker, when they
mistake her for an adult. Among the many problems this
presents is that little thing called time management.
When Jane takes the job, she will soon find herself juggling
life both as a normal high school student and an assistant
to Gray Chandler Murray, an executive who keeps Jane on
her toes with her constant demands. If this wasn't hard
enough, it all happens in the cutthroat world of fashion
and in order to make her dream keep coming true, day in
and day out, Jane will have to keep her true identity
a secret on top of it all. Looks like Jane has plenty
to do this year, but we are sure it's going to make for
some great TV.
American Idol Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 PM on FOX
Two-Night Season Premiere January 18 & 19
No matter how many other singing competitions
may litter our television screens, we all know where the
craze all began. And, sorry, Simon Cowell, since last
season of Idol proved that the show can be just as good
without you, it doesn't look like the show will be going
anywhere soon. Instead, the odds are good it will reign
supreme yet again this season when Randy Jackson, Jennifer
Lopez and Steven Tyler return as an incredible judging
trio and Ryan Seacrest continues to make us laugh. As
always, Season 11 will begin with the audition rounds
which will undoubtedly make us all laugh, but we'll quickly
garner our favorites and get down the top dozen and then
the competition is really on!
Smash Mondays at 10 PM on NBC
Series Premiere February 6
Mixing music and television is a formula
that has proven to work before, so now NBC is bringing
the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater to the
small screen to follow some of the biggest dreamers and
schemers to take the stage. The show centers around the
characters' desires to create and star in a Broadway musical
based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Between conflict
and personal drama on the creators' side and rivalry between
those vying for a spot in front of the lights, there will
be no shortage of potential plotlines for this script.
If you're not convinced by this, just look at the all-star
cast line-up featuring Debra Messing, Katharine McPhee,
Jack Davenport, Anjelica Huston, Christian Borle, Brian
D'Arcy James and more - this show is going to be a smash.
